Tasks in the field of economic and development policy

In the course of these activities, the Association monitors the change of general economic and market relations and makes conclusions concerning their influence on cement production. This involves the preparation of, or giving order for, actual and perspective forecasts and analyses, collection of information and provision of services. Our principal tasks in this field are the following:

- Essential and active participation in the work of the Hungarian National Association of Hungarian Employers and Manufacturers (MGYOSZ) and the Hungarian Association of the Construction Materials Industry (MÉASZ).
Contribution to environment-friendly technical progress

Joining to the European Union and ever increasing expectations concerning the product quality require compliance with European practice, methods and specifications, first of all within the following areas:
- Organization and coordination in the field of active quality policy (quality control, quality assurance and certification); implementation of uniform testing practice in order to ensure reproducibility of internationally applied methods at national level
- Standardization activities: conservation of the integrity and modernity of national standards related to the sector, preparation of the second generation of cement standards
- Coordination in the field of environment protection in issues concerning emission limits, IPPC qualification, CO2 trading etc.; as well as in the interest of promotion of the utilization of alternative raw materials and fuels
- Professional support to the workmanlike and safe use of cement products. Among these activities the appearance of new cement types, coming to the foreground of heterogeneous cements and the use of composite cements deserve specific attention. Professional use of the products represents a societal interest as well.
Improvement of the image of cement production and general acceptance of cement products

This task means the support of the cement industry's efforts to establish public contacts, especially in order to increase societal acceptance as well as to improve professional and scientific prestige and economic and environmental opinion about cement production. Our principal tasks in this field are the following:
- Appearance, participation in national and regional events in the name of the cement industry
- Monitoring the press in electronic and printed media, reacting on papers when necessary
- Building of contacts with the press
- Issue of publications, electronic newsletters etc.
- Awarding the Concrete Architecture prize.
Representation of employers' interests
In meeting this task the Association helps its members by providing employers' representation, supporting labor safety and establishing an education policy oriented to professional training and further education of the workers. Employers' representation means participation in various forms of reconciliation of interests in issues of the world of labor. For this purpose, the Association holds a membership in the Hungarian National Association of Hungarian Employers and Manufacturers (MGYOSZ) and participates in the Sector's Dialogue Committee. It is traditional in the cement industry to conclude the Sector's Collective Contract. The Association is a partner of the employees' representative bodies in the preparation and conclusion of the sector's medium level collective contracts.
